Coming in the top ten percent of Tourist Attractions in the World (Trip Advisor 2023) is the iconic Portland Bill Lighthouse and Visitor Centre.
Standing 41metres tall on the south point of Portland Bill, it has guided passing vessels through the hazardous waters surrounding the area while also acting as a waymark for ships navigating the English Channel.
You can take a guided tour to the Top of the lighthouse and into the lantern room with spectacular views of the Jurassic coast and the whole of ‘Portland Bill’
For those who do not wish to ascend the 155 steps to the very top of the Lantern Room, we have our informative Visitor Centre and charming shop where you’ll find interesting and unusual gifts for all pockets and ages.
Please Note: You Must be 1.10metres (3.6Ft) tall to Climb the Lighthouse. Dogs are most welcome in the Visitor Centre and our shop but unfortunately not up the tower.
If climbing the Lighthouse please wear suitable footwear. No Flip flops etc All visitors(including Children) must be able to ascend and descend the stairs unaided.
